Fairy Meadows Trek Guide: Face to Face with Nanga Parbat

Elijah Tours Team May 22, 2026 7 min read

Fairy Meadows is a lush alpine plateau perched directly beneath Nanga Parbat, the world's ninth-highest peak. Reaching it is an adventure in itself — and the reward is one of the most breathtaking mountain views on the planet.

How to reach Fairy Meadows

From the KKH near Raikot Bridge, a legendary (and thrilling) jeep track climbs to Tato village. From there it's a 3–4 hour uphill trek or pony ride to the meadows themselves.

The journey is demanding but well within reach of reasonably fit travelers — our guides arrange jeeps, porters, and camping so you can focus on the scenery.

Best time to visit

The access road and camps are open roughly June to September. July and August offer the greenest meadows and the most reliable clear views of Nanga Parbat.

Top things to do

Trek onward to Beyal Camp and the Nanga Parbat base camp viewpoint for the closest look at the Killer Mountain's Raikot face.

Spend an evening under exceptionally dark skies — the stargazing from the meadows is unforgettable.

Where to stay

Accommodation is in wooden cabins and fixed camps at Fairy Meadows. Nights are cold even in summer, so warm layers and a good sleeping setup are essential — we provide quality gear.

Plan your Fairy Meadows trek

Our 5-day Fairy Meadows trek covers KKH transport, the Raikot jeep track, guided trekking, and full camping arrangements — a bucket-list adventure done safely.
