Arrival in Amman
Met at Queen Alia International Airport and driven to your hotel, with a short evening briefing for the days ahead.
Baptism Site & Mount Nebo
An early start for Bethany Beyond the Jordan while the valley is cool: the guided walk to the baptism pools, Elijah's Hill and the river steps, where you can touch the water and pray. In the afternoon, the Memorial of Moses on Mount Nebo.
Madaba & Machaerus
The Madaba Map in St George's Church and the town's mosaics, then south to Machaerus, the hilltop fortress where Josephus records the death of John the Baptist, for the view at sunset.
Tell Mar Elias, Anjara & Jerash
North into the hills of Gilead: the Byzantine church at Tell Mar Elias, traditional birthplace of Elijah, and the shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain at Anjara, then the Roman streets of Jerash on the way back to Amman.
Dead Sea
A day of rest on the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth, with time to float in the salt water and to close the pilgrimage with prayer as a group.
Departure
Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for the flight home.
