Arrival in Amman
Met at Queen Alia International Airport and driven to your hotel, with a short evening briefing for the days ahead.
Jerash, Tell Mar Elias & Anjara
The Roman streets of Jerash, a city of the Decapolis, then the hills of Gilead: Tell Mar Elias, traditional birthplace of Elijah, and the shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain at Anjara.
Baptism Site & Mount Nebo
Bethany Beyond the Jordan in the cool of the morning, with the baptism pools, Elijah's Hill and the river steps, then the Memorial of Moses on Mount Nebo.
Madaba & the King's Highway
The Madaba Map and the town's mosaics, then south along the King's Highway — the road Moses asked to travel through Edom (Numbers 20:17) — past Kerak Castle to Wadi Musa, the town at the gate of Petra.
Petra
A full day in Petra: the Siq and the Treasury, the Royal Tombs and, for those who wish to climb, the Monastery. Jabal Haroun, the traditional tomb of Aaron, is in view from the high places.
Wadi Rum
South to Wadi Rum for a jeep tour with Bedouin guides, sunset over the dunes and a night in a desert camp.
Dead Sea
North to the Dead Sea for an afternoon float in the salt water and a last evening together.
Departure
Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for the flight home.
