A city carved into rose-red sandstone, reached through the narrow gorge of the Siq. Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; above it rises Jabal Haroun, where Jewish, Christian and Muslim tradition places the tomb of Aaron, brother of Moses (Numbers 20:28).
